to December 1976, second lieutenant in Sanitary Service of
Carabinieri force
* December 1976
to April 1979, neurologist in "S. Giovanni Battista" hospital of
ACISMOM. In this
period he carried out several researches on the evaluation
* of the pharmacological
effects of nootropic and psychotropic substances under
supervision of
prof. Giuliano Dolce and Cornelio Fazio.
* January 1979
to October 1980, he directed a research program on the
utilization of
narcotic agonist-antagonist drugs in the treatment of the
Heroin-addicts.The
research has been funded by the Italian Ministry of Health.
* October 1979
to July 1987, officer and consultant in matter of drugs, terrorism,
and organized
criminality for the Italian government, (Presidency of Council).
* From February
1980 to present, consultant for several international
organizations
bodies and agencies, (former United Nations Social Defense
Research Institute,
now United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research
Institute, United
Nations Division of Narcotic Drugs, Council of Europe, European
Community, World
Health Organization, International Labour Organization). As
UNICRI Consultant
attended to the annual session of Commission on Narcotic
Drugs at United
Nations Office in Vienna.
* Research director
and coordinator in several international comparative studies
on different
aspects of drug abuse and trafficking for International Organizations.
* January 1985
to January 1987, member of National Commission on evaluation
of new methods
in treatment of drug users.
* From January
1987 to present, associate professor of Criminological Medicine
and Forensic
Psychiatry at University of Rome "La Sapienza" faculty of medicine,
department of
psychiatric sciences and psychological medicine.
* From May 1987
to present, consultant on problems of social pathology for the
Department of
Public Security, Italian Ministry of Interior.
* July 1988,
he formed the International Association for applied Human Sciences
of which is president.
* From January
1987 to present, professor of criminology in several
postgraduate
training schools at University of Rome: faculty of medicine, faculty of
law, and in the
institute of high studies of the Italian Police.

present, member of National Commission of consultants of
Italian government
on the implementation of the narcotic laws.

on the organized crime attended to preparatory activities of the

SCIENTIFIC
ACTIVITIES
Member of 13
national and international scientific and professional societies, up
to day, directed
and coordinated 50 research programs in different criminological,
psychological
and psychiatric fields; other 9 scientific reaserches are in progress.
He presented
original scientific papers in 80 national and international scientific
congresses and
meetings; chairman in 2 international scientific meetings; rapporteur
in 2 others one.
He organized 7 International and national congresses.
He published
35 monographic issues, a treatise of criminology and forensic
psychiatry in
17 books and more than 200 articles, scientific and divulgative papers.
The most relevant
publications of his scientific production are in English.

EDUCATIONAL
ACTIVITIES
From 1982, F.
Bruno held his course of criminology and forensic psychology in
4 different postgraduate
medical schools of University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
From 1987 held
his course of forensic psychopathology in the faculty of
medicine of the
same University.
From 1994 organized
and directed 3 postgraduate universitary annual courses
on the psychological
and behavioural support to the criminal investigation, on the
psychiatric expertise,
on the cross-examination in penal trial.
Prof. Bruno
is charged to teach criminological, psychological and psychiatric
matters in the
Police High Institute and in many other governmental ad not
governmental
institutions.
